Pride Project
The Hawthorn class Pride Project will be shared with the Whiting School Board at the regularlyy scheduled March meeting.
 
ICE SKATING AT THE SPARTAN ARENA
On Wednesday February 15th, the students of Whiting and Sudbury schools will be heading to the Spartan Arena in Rutland for a morning of ice skating followed by lunch, hosted by the Sudbury school. We are very excited to have some winter fun (despite having no snow this winter) and to be with our Starbase friends again!

The Hawthorn class will be visiting the UVM Morgan Horse Farm on January 17th as a precursor to beginning their reading unit, Justin Morgan Had A Horse. Students will be connecting the information they have been studying in class about the Morgan horse and general information about horses from Project Hoofbeat to the Vermont State horse, the MorganAfter our tour, the Hawthorns will be studying maps of New England from the 1700 and 1800 hundreds to identify specific locations discussed in the book.

  • We invite schools in grades K-8 to participate in an exciting series of twelve interactive workshops that meet educational standards from Vermont’s Framework of Standards and Grade Expectations. Our workshops introduce students to concepts and themes in art, language arts, math, science, and social studies through a facilitated exploration of Shelburne Museum.
