Schools usually send subsidized school meal applications home at the beginning of each school year to determine eligibility for free/reduced meals. We’ll be doing so next week as we prepare for the Lunch program start-up. While most families apply early in the year, you may apply for subsidized school meals at any time throughout the school year by submitting a household application directly to the School. We will provide an application upon request. If your family is earning at or below current Income Eligibility Guidelines (coming home with the application), we encourage you to contact us to fill out a school meal application. The School is the agency that will process your application and issue an eligibility determination, not the Abbey Group. If you are receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or 3SquaresVT benefits, your child(ren) automatically qualify for free school meals. The National School Lunch Program was established forty years ago to provide nutritious meals to children, regardless of family income.
